FROM  THE  EDITOR

"I  Am  an  American"

"... Every drop of blood in me holds a
heritage of patriotism. I am proud of my
Past  .  .  .

"See," said my father, pointing to the flag
that fluttered near, "That flag of stars and
stripes  is  yours;

It is the emblem of the promised land."

Elias Lieberman: "I Am an American"

The 1965-1966 school year begins with a
flag raising ceremony sponsored by the Beta
Club.

".  .  .  And  the  Star-Spangled  Banner  in  tri¬
umph shall wave O’er the land of the free and
the  home  of  the  brave."

Francis  Scott  Key

THE GENERAL of 1965-1966 is devoted to
the theme of "patriotism"- -for God and Coun¬
try- -with the hope that it will inspire and
challenge the students of William Campbell
High School to be loyal and patriotic citizens
of our esteemed school and beloved land.

Editor-In-Chief

While the flags were being raised the student
body stood at attention singing the "Star-Spangled
Banner" after which a patriotic program was
presented.

A  CHALLENGE  FOR  PATRIOTISM

"Almighty God, we make our earnest
prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States
in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline
the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit
of  subordination  and  obedience  to  government;
to entertain a brotherly affection and love for
one another and for their fellow-citizens of
the  United  States  at  large."

Washington’s  prayer  after
Inauguration.
